Below are a selection of typical and important activities and practices conduct by us in accordance with our respect to our environment / planet.
We also believe that going forward, many card and paper suppliers will find even greater sustainable practices in the recycling and production of premium quality materials. We will be the first to know and act on this.
We endeavor to reduce pollution, emissions and waste produced by the business, and expect similar environmental standards from all suppliers. (These are all UK based, preventing carbon footprint and other associated transport costs)
- On all printers we have a sleep function to prevent energy wastage
- Our paper and recycling bin is taken to the local recycling facility weekly
- We “Proof” orders on the back of previously use card that needed to be edited
- Transport: Our “Print on Demand” business allows us to walk to work at our studios and our print and admin team are all local, within 3 miles, with several team members cycling or walking to work (when weather permits)
- Print on demand / short run printing: We only set up a print run once we receive a confirmed order, so no stock piles, out dated and x stock that needs to be destroyed.
- Our card stock is luxury quality and therefore not recycled, but does come from sustainable sources.
- Our hand made gift boxes are made locally in Cornwall and from recycled card.
- Deliveries: We order in healthy volumes to prevent unnecessary delivery mileage
- Postage: We send all stationery orders with Royal mail packet post, as they collate the most parcels in our under 2 kilo category, hence preventing wasteful individual dispatch deliveries. (If in the rare event royal mail have industrial action we then use couriers as we remain 100% customer focused)
- Postage part 2: Apart from the on route collection by Royal mail, when neded, we send all orders by (except on Wed when it’s closed!) from Pilton Post Office that is 1.3 miles away. All mail goes in our eco friendly 1.4 litre Mini.
- HoneyTree donates all cartridges to the Macmilan Cancer Support 'Think Ink' initiative.
