Celebrating story writing and reading
What better place to be on a Sunday morning than in bed and curled up with your favourite book. As a child I would creep back under the duvet after breakfast, and spend blissful undisturbed hours enraptured in the worlds created by Roald Dahl, CS Lewis or Tolkien.
For the rest of the time I imagined myself as a famous author. I would litter the house with paper and drawings, all the beginnings of made up stories with prancing unicorns and fairy realms.
Reading and writing your own stories is a magical experience so I was so delighted when my little niece created the most enchanting short story using the stationery set I gave her. She had busied herself away for hours, her imagination ignited by the illustration that leapt from the top of the page and into the narrative of the story. Now I can’t keep up with her demands of new designs for all her wonderful stories!
We are passionate about writing and reading here at HoneyTree, and being an avid bookworm one of my favourite gifts to give and receive are books. Our Bookplates are a lovely gift for book lovers to create their own collection. Maybe you are gifting a child their first set of Beatrix Potter Books and wish to mark the occasion with a personalised Label.
Enjoy World Book day this year and continue to celebrate stories and love reading.
